What Happens with Your Teacher Referrals

When you pass along the name of another teacher to lead a travel program, our Travel Specialists will reach out to them by phone. Our specialists will let your referral know that you referred them to us and will help them get a travel program started in their school. A Travel Specialist will also ensure your referrals receive a $1,000 scholarship to use toward their first WorldStrides trip.

What Makes a Great Teacher Referral

Here are a few things to keep in mind when introducing new teachers to educational travel:

Think Like You: The best teachers to lead travel programs are just like you—passionate, energetic, and well-liked by their students and peers. Teachers who travel on their own or with their friends and family make great candidates to lead travel programs for their students, too.
Stay Connected: We encourage you to keep in contact with your referrals throughout the process—they may have questions you can answer along the way, and staying connected means there's a greater chance your Rewards Points will grow. If one of your referrals starts a travel program, you'll be the first to know and congratulate them!
Branch Out: Think outside your school. Since you already have a program at your school, you'll want to think of an educator at a neighboring school in your community. Don't limit yourself to teachers in just one field! WorldStrides has programs available for all types of teachers:

U.S. History
Our History programs allow students to relive the past and see with their own eyes many of the sights and locations that shaped where our nation is today. From walking a Powhattan Indian Village of Jamestown to standing on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to panning for gold in California, these programs bring history to life for your students.

STEM
Our STEM tours take science off the page, out of the lab, and into the real world. They connect students with the natural world, from seeing moose in Alaska, to manatees in Florida, to geysers in Iceland, to tortoises in the Galapagos.

Performing Arts
Our Performing Arts programs provide band, orchestra, choir, dance, and theatre groups with a stimulating combination of performance, adjudication, and professional coaching. Taking their talents on the road allows students to create new skill benchmarks, fostering growth, poise, and a new-found confidence.

Language Study
There's truly nothing like immersion to bring a language to life. To do that, we offer language study tours that can be customized in over 40 different countries across seven language targets: Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish. Programs can include homestays to further elevate the immersion factor.

World History
In addition to world language, we also offer hundreds of programs that provide a deep dive into the history and culture of countries and civilizations all around the world. Many of these programs also offer service-learning aspects to further enhance the learning experience.

Sports
Our Sports tours empower teams to share their love of the game with new friends in new places. Through friendly matches with local teams, guest training sessions, touring world-renown facilities, and great sightseeing, these programs create a new standard of sports travel for any team ranging from soccer and lacrosse to baseball, volleyball, and basketball.
